Costco Canned Roast Beef Recipe Ideas: 20+ Options!

Costco is selling a four pack of Kirkland Canned Roast Beef with each can holding 12 ounces of product.  This is Item Number 458184 and currently costs $17.99.  If your Costco has this in stocked it will be located in the aisle with the canned chicken and canned tuna.

The roast beef is made from the Round Roasts (top and bottom) which makes it naturally lean and free from chunks of fat and gristle.  The beef is surprisingly tender.

Use it With Pasta

  • This stuff is amazing! I made beef stroganoff with it and loved it!
  • I just heat it up in a pan and serve it over noodles for my husband. Sometimes I add mushrooms. Easy dinner night. Broccoli on the side.
  • It is a good quick meal fix. A few noodles with it and mashed potatoes add a vegetable and a great meal!
  • We use it to make a breakfast hash with chopped taters and onions!
  • I made a pot of curly pasta. Put on a drained can of the roast beef, some butter and soffritto seasoning from Trader Joe’s and topped with Parmesan cheese. It was delicious.
  • Simple beef and noodles, but I use some Better Than Bullion and a light corn starch slurry to beef up the broth.

  • Make a brown gravy with beef stock and any seasoning you like, shred up the beef and add to gravy. Simmer to thicken and meld flavors. Assemble with sliced bread with rice on top and then pour the beef and gravy over. So delicious!

Breakfast

  • Put it in eggs with some onion & bell pepper.

Soups and Stews

  • This would make a very simple and fast beef stew.
  • I just dump in a pot with beef broth (to your desired soupiness), diced tomatoes and frozen mixed veggies. Season to taste and cook until veggies are tender.
  • I use it for a quick vegetable soup. It’s good and easy, use frozen vegetables and canned tomatoes… quick and easy when you come home from work, on a cold evening. One can doesn’t make a lot, but plenty for 2 people for dinner.
  • I use it to put in my beef vegetable soup.

Other Ideas

  • Made beef and dumplings!
  • I use it for a quick meal with the Costco Ramen. I’ll sauté onions, peppers, add the beef and steamed broccoli to the ramen.
  • I usually make mushroom gravy or a thick wine gravy. I serve with mashed potatoes and veggies. It’s really tender meat! Very little fat and no gristle.
