The frozen burgers from Costco are easy to grill and taste great. We buy the Ground Sirloin patties (85/15) that come with 18 patties per bag. Each burger weighs 1/3 of a pound.
We always try to keep a bag of these burgers in our freezer as they make for a quick and easy weeknight meal. We simply open up the freezer, grab as many as we want, and throw them on the grill!
This review will cover everything you need to know about these frozen burgers including how to grill, calories and cost.
How to Grill the Frozen Burgers from Costco
These burgers grill up pretty fast so it isn’t really worth the time to fire up your Traeger or light a charcoal grill. Instead, we like to use a Weber gas grill as they get hot fast and get the job done just fine. The little Nexgrill tabletop grill from Costco would also be perfect!
Start by turning your grill to High and letting the grates preheat for 15 minutes. After the grates have heated use your grill brush to scrape the grates clean. Clean grates are less prone to sticking to the burgers and give better grill marks.
Place the frozen burgers directly on the grill and lower the heat to Medium. There is no need to thaw the burgers before grilling.
Close the lid and let the burgers grill for about five minutes.
The burgers will tell you when it is time to give them a flip. When the juices start to pool up on top of the burgers that is your cue to break out the spatula and turn them over!
You will get a little flare up when you flip the burgers and the grease from the top hits the flames. Don’t worry about the flareup as it will be short lived and the smoke will add nice flavor to the burgers.
As soon as the burgers are flipped season the top with salt and pepper or your favorite burger seasoning like Traeger Beef Rub.
Close the lid and let the burgers cook for another 3-4 minutes.
After the burgers have grilled 3-4 more minutes open the lid and start toasting the hamburger buns.
While buns are toasting check the internal temperature of the burgers. You want to cook the burgers to an internal temperature of 165F. When they are close to the target temperature add slices of cheese if desired.
Seriously folks, take the time to toast your buns!
As soon as the burgers are done (165F internal temperature) remove them from the grill and assemble the burger.
We like to make double cheeseburgers with mayonnaise, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and barbecue sauce. These burgers are also excellent topped with sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions and steak sauce.

Price of Frozen Hamburgers at Costco
The frozen sirloin patties are Item Number 88742 and are found in the freezer section of the warehouse. The burgers come in a six pound package that currently costs $26.49 or $4.41 per pound.
Since you get 18 patties per bag he cost per patty is $1.47.
Paying $4.41 per pound for premade frozen burgers seems like a fair price to us so we happily buy these burgers on a frequent basis.
